Amanda Bossard was just out of high school when she started her marine biology education at Alaska PacificUniversity in Anchorage. Bossard started her career as a commercial seafood expert in 1999, when she started working on board the F/V Sunset, a 65' halibut schooner turned to salmon tender with Murat Aritan. He has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard and Aritan have been married since 1993 and have joined forces to stake their claim to their respective industries. They are both in favor of conservative and profitable managing of the renewable resources for seafood. Otolith was created at the time of Philadelphia by Bella Bossard, now mother to two kids who are aged three and one Bossard. In 2007, Bossard, mother of two children Bella aged 3 and Andre 1 and returning to Philadelphia from her home in Canada, launched Otolith as a direct-market wholesale seafood distributor. Bossard along with Isabella Andre and Isabella Andre (ages 12 and 10 respectively) are back each year, beginning in July of 2016, to Southeast Alaska for the summer catch of salmon wild. Hooks and lines are employed to capture their salmon after which they join Aritan to sell to local processors for a period of two months. After that, they increase their direct seafood sale through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard has been an anchor/MMJ for News 12 The Bronx since November of 2015, and for News 12 Brooklyn.
